Envelope Architecture & Consulting is a full-service Architecture and Consulting firm that specializes in Building Envelope Design, investigations and assessments of historic and contemporary buildings. EAC is also an accredited Building Enclosure Commissioning Process Provider. While much of our work is focused on investigation, diagnosing and preparing solutions for existing buildings with problems, we also offer our clients support for new construction. If you are preparing to design a new project or just trying to maintain your existing building but are having trouble, EAC can help.
We are excited to be part of another project with Archetype Architects. This new seven story apartment building will be part of the Bayside neighborhood revitalization. EAC is once again providing the exterior envelope drawing package for our client. Roof plans and details, wall sections, details and product selection are just some of the services we offer.
EAC is thrilled to be part of this amazing project. The new facility for WEX in down town Portland is currently being designed by our client Archetype. We have been asked to consult on the exterior of the building and assist with the envelope design. This project includes curtain wall glazing, structural glazing and metal panel exterior. A roof top plaza will also be part of this project. Thank you to Archetype for including EAC in this amazing project.
EAC was called upon by RWH Architects to consult on the Atkinson Fire Station in Atkinson, NH. The Fire station was built 17 years ago and started showing signs of deterioration behind the siding last year. Along with RWH, EAC did a complete exterior destructive investigation and provided the client with a full findings report and presentation to the town. Our report cites causes of failure, tracking of water infiltration, the extent of damage and recommendations for repair.
"David is more than just a creative and talented architect, he has unique knowledge and practical sensibilities that enabled us to navigate a slew of complex fire issues and the permitting process in Portland. Our second project here in Yarmouth was a hybrid mixed use property. He did our drawings, referred us to a talented structural engineer and devised an elegant solution to a difficult problem."

"David's impressive depth of knowledge and experience was always apparent ~ whether dealing with large challenges or in his meticulous attention to the smallest of details. His working relationships with craftsmen and others in the building trade are impressive. He made sure all contractors on the site were up-to-speed with our numerous (and unique) building circumstances and was always available to me, in person or electronically, for questions or concerns.
