Prior to starting his own Professional firm David Douglass AIA, was the sole Licensed Design Professional at Building Envelope Specialists from 2012 to 2017. David functioned as the information and technical center for the company regardless the type of project. When in the field he led building investigations and assessments. In the office, his role involved report writing, information investigation and design document coordination for nearly every project Building Envelope Specialists has completed up until July 2017.

Winner of 2012, Maine Preservation Honor Award for the adaptive use of the Maine Hall Building in Bangor, Maine. Winner of 2013, Maine Preservation Honor Award for the adaptive use of the Maine Children’s Hospital in Portland, Maine. Winner of 2013, Maine Preservation Honor Award for the repair and restoration of Porter Memorial Library in Machias, Maine. Winner of 2013, Maine Preservation Honor Award for the repair and restoration of Moody Chapel Tower in Fairfield, Maine. Winner of 2013, Maine Preservation Honor Award for the repair and restoration of Lamb Block in Livermore Falls, Maine. Winner of 2013, Federal “Timmy” Award for the adaptive use of the Maine Children’s Hospital in Portland, Maine. Also as part of this Project, David was the Project Architect for this Project while working for CWS Architects in Portland Maine.
