David is the owner and Principal in charge of Envelope Architecture & Consulting. He is a Licensed Architect in the states of Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire and a National Council of Architecture Registration Boards Certificate holder. David has over 20 years of experience in new commercial design and construction as well as major renovation and historic restoration.
David is not simply a business man or someone who has just happened into the roll of building envelope specialist. After nearly 2 decades of designing complex buildings as an Architect he has graduated to this special roll in the building industry. He has the benefit of his education, his professional licensure and an entire career that has made him an consummate design professional in the field of Building Enclosure Science.
Originally from Maine, he was raised in New Hampshire and spent 6 years living in Southern California before returning to Maine. He attended school both in California and Massachusetts; he received his Bachelors of Architecture Degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology and has worked for two local architecture firms in the Portland area as well as previously working for a Portland area consulting firm from 2012 to 2017.
David is an accomplished Architect. He has worked on many new construction projects including Public and Private K-12 educational, healthcare, assisted living, retail, commercial and re-purposed existing historic buildings. As part of his experience he has a vast knowledge and experience with building systems and their integration. As an accomplished investigator he enjoys the challenge of problem solving and developing solutions that arise during investigation, building and design.
He is skilled at developing cost effective solutions to complex problems. David is an expert in building assemblies, forensic investigation and resolution-design of chronic building system failures As a Project Architect and Project Manager David has the experience of coordinating and guiding teams of professionals through the entire design-build process. As a Professional Consultant he now assists Architects, building owners, developers, contractors facilities directors and home owners with solving complex building problems. He has years of experience designing, documenting and detailing projects as well as coordinating other project consultants and team members. During the building process, he has worked with a variety of local and state officials and boards on behalf of project owners as well the National Parks Service and the General Services Commission.
David currently lives in Maine with his wife, Virginie, their children Maya and Ronin , the cat the dog and the rabbit - Buns. .
